Command Chief Brian J. Black

CSCS Brian Black currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader and Food Service Officer aboard CGC Resolute (WMEC 620).

CSCS Black enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 2003 prior to enlisting in the U. S. Coast Guard in July 2012. 

While serving in the Navy, CSCS Black served aboard the USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG-58) homeported in Mayport, FL from 2003 to 2007. While serving in the Coast Guard, CSCS Black served aboard CGC SENECA (WMEC 906) homeported in Boston, MA from 2012 to 2015. He served as the Food Service Officer at Small Boat Station Cortez, FL, aboard CGC SPAR (WLB 206) and CGC CYPRESS (WLB 210) both homeported in Kodiak, AK, and aboard CGC OUACHITA (WLR 65501) homeported in Chattanooga, TN.

CSCS Black holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from American Military University. CSCS Black’s military awards include four Coast Guard Achievement Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and a Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon. In addition to various other personal and unit level awards, CSCS Black wears the Permanent Cutterman Insignia with more than eleven years afloat.
