MCPO Robert Riemer

Command Master Chief, First Coast Guard District

Master Chief Boatswains Mate Rob Riemer assumed the duties of the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the First Coast Guard District on May 8, 2024. Master Chief Riemer serves as a trusted advisor to the First District Commander. He is also an advocate for the 3500 military and civilian personnel that serve across the First District.

Prior to assuming his current role, Master Chief Riemer served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for USCG Sector New York. While at Sector New York he provided advice and counsel to the Sector Commander and a workforce of more than 900 personnel including; seven cutters, three multi-mission boat stations, and two aids to navigation teams.

Master Chief Riemer served as the Officer in Charge aboard the USCGC Hawk (WPB-87355) homeported in Little Creek, Virginia (2018-2020). His Officer in Charge ashore assignments included Station Menemesha, Martha’s Vineyard, MA (2014-2018) and Station Elizabeth City, NC (2011-2014). He also served as the Executive Petty Officer for the commissioning crew aboard the USCGC Reef Shark (WPB-87371) homeported in San Juan, Puerto Rico (2008-2011).

His general duty afloat assignments include USCGC Yocona (WMEC-168) home ported in Kodiak, Alaska and USCGC Tybee (WPB-1330) home ported in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

His general duty ashore assignments include; CG Station Eatons Neck, NY; Activities New York, Staten Island, NY; CG Station Fort Totten, NY, CG Station Kings Point, NY; CG Station Montauk, NY; CG Station Shinnecock, NY; and CG Station Small Moriches, NY.

Master Chief Riemer holds the Multi-Mission Afloat and Ashore Officer in Charge Competencies. He has earned a Merchant Mariner’s License for Motor and Steam propelled vessels not to exceed 200 gross registered tons. In 2014 he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University. Master Chief Riemer is a graduate of Chief Petty Officer Academy Class 178 and the Senior Enlisted Leadership Course Class 57.

MCPO Riemer was born in Liberty, NY and entered the Coast Guard from Richmond, VA in 1991. He enjoys the love and support of his wife, Kara, and their two adult children.
