HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
- In 1889 the first Port Washington pierhead light was built on the end of the North pier.
- In 1903 this became the harbors main harbor light.
- In 1924 the light was electrified and automated.
- It was discontinued with the completion of the breakwater light in 1935.
