Remarks:
According to “YourErie.com” on & 7 July 2024: “The Ashtabula, Ohio Coast Guard station is among several seasonal Coast Guard stations that have been closed. According to a Coast Guard representative in Cleveland, the station is still owned by the Coast Guard but is no longer being manned. The Erie and Cleveland stations will now cover the waters previously patrolled by Ashtabula along with air support from Detroit. All of the members of the 22-person Ashtabula crew have been reassigned to other Lake Erie locations.”
Keepers:
Fayette E. Walworth was appointed keeper on 6 February 1894 and resigned for physical reasons on 1 November 1905.
Charles W. Anderson was appointed keeper on 19 October 1905 and was still serving in 1915.
