Remarks:
Part of station turned over to the GSA in 1956. One acre tract of land transferred to the Department of the Army in 1956. The site originally occupied by the Cape Henry Station was apparently not owned by the U.S. There is no evidence of title to any land prior to 1903.
Keepers:
J. D. Edwards was appointed keeper on 20 JUL 1875 and left in 1876 (?)
Frank P. Creekmore was appointed keeper in 1876 and left in 1876 (?)
William Henley was appointed keeper on 19 JAN 1877 and left in 1877.
Charles W. Lewis was appointed keeper on 22 NOV 1878 and resigned in 1882 (?)
Joseph T. King was appointed keeper on 20 DEC 1882 and transferred to Station Seatact on 7 SEP 1886.
Edward W. Johnstone was appointed keeper on 30 AUG 1886 and resigned on 21 JUN 1897.
Nelson Holmes was appointed keeper on 28 JUL 1897 and was still serving in 1915.
Warrant Boatswain (L) F. G. Gillikin was listed as the commanding officer in 1929.
