Remarks:
Coast Guard Lifeboat Station Coquille River is located in Bandon, Coos County, Oregon, on the south side of Coquille River. The main station building was erected in 1939 and commissioned in 1940. The Coast Guard has been in Bandon since the erection of the Coquille River Light Station in 1895. The Lifeboat Station was converted from year-round to seasonal in 1972; it was manned from April through October. By 1979, the Coquille River Patrol operated through early September.
Keepers:
Edward M. Nelson was appointed keeper on 7 AUG 1891 and drowned on 12 APR 1892.
Alexander Scott was appointed keeper on 25 MAY 1892 and deserted on 5 NOV 1899 and was dismissed by Department letter on 28 NOV 1899.
Robert Johnson was appointed keeper on 22 NOV 1899 and was still serving in 1915.
