Remarks:
1914 a severe storm completely destroyed the buildings and made an island of the site, thereby rendering the site useless for life-saving purposes. Station Freeport is a descendent of this station.
Keepers:
Joseph W. Simmons was appointed keeper on 1 MAY 1888 and transferred to Station Galveston on 24 NOV 1888.
Henry Tolland was appointed keeper on 24 NOV 1888 and died on 15 JUN 1893.
John F. Ahm was appointed keeper on 18 JUL 1893 and transferred to Station Galveston on 9 NOV 1901.
John P. Steinhart was appointed keeper on 9 NOV 1901 and was still serving in 1915.
