Near south end of Long Beach, on west side of island, 3 3/8 miles northeast by east of Tuckerton radio tower; 39-32' 00"N x 74-15' 20"W.

Remarks:
A new site was acquired 1886. In 1896 it became necessary to move the buildings from this site due to the encroachment of the sea. In 1899 a site more inland was acquired.
Keepers:
Thomas Bond was appointed in 1849. It is unknown when he left the service.
Lewis Steward was appointed in 1853. It is unknown when he left the service.
Thomas Bond was appointed on OCT 1, 1866 and resigned from service on APR 4, 1883.
John Marshall, Jr. was appointed on MAR 24, 1883 and in SEP 17, 1909 resigned due to physical reasons.
Samuel E. Holdzkorn was appointed on SEP 8. 1909 and left the service in 1915.
Eber Rider (acting) was appointed in 1915 and still serving in 1915.
