History:

USS Abarenda was one of many miscellaneous-class Navy vessel manned by the Coast Guard during World War II.  It served with both the 3rd and 5th Fleets as a mobile floating storage tanker, dispensing fuel and performing miscellaneous services at Manus, Admiralty Islands, and Leyte.
