ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. - The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hammer is at dress ship at its homeport at Sector Jacksonville in Atlantic Beach, Fla., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, 50 years after being placed in service. The Hammer, an inland construction tender placed in service Nov. 30, 1962, and its crew are responsible for maintaining approximately 1,400 fixed aids to navigation from Sapelo Sound in Georgia south to Melbourne, Fla., and the St. Johns River from Mayport, Fla., to Sanford, Fla.
