Coast Guardsmen from Loran Station Attu, representatives of the Japanese Government, U.S. Fish and Wildlife service and U.S. Department of Defense gather in front of the Loran Station. The Coast Guard Air Sation Kodiak provided transportation on a HC-130 Hercules airplane, and the Loran Station provided lodging, food, transportation, knowledge of the island and manpower during the expedition to identify mass burial sites of Japanese soldiers.
